In the perception of many people, lithium batteries can be stored for more than a few years without losing power. However, lithium batteries here refers to a single cell, not not an actual "battery".
The Segway Dirt eBike battery is made up of individual cells, which also have a protection board and sensors. Even if the battery is not in use, the protection board and the sensor are always working. Therefore, even if you do not take the Segway Dirt eBike out for a spin, the battery is actually working and consuming power.
Therefore, if you do not use the battery for a long time, you must do the following:
1. Charge the battery, turn off the breaker switch, and pull out the battery. Store the battery in a cool and dry place.
2. Check the battery every month to maintain more than 50% of the battery power and recharge it if it's less than 50%.
3. For your safety, please do not leave the battery charging for extended period of time, please unplug the charging cable once the battery has reached 100%.
